New light vehicle sales drop -8% year-on-year in 2022 in Morocco to 161,410 units. This includes 143.186 passenger cars (-7.1%) and 18.224 light commercials (-14.2%). Local producer Dacia (-11.7%) continues to dominate the Moroccan passenger cars charts with albeit with a lower share at 27.2% vs. 28.6% last year. It is followed by sister brand Renault (+5.7%) which progresses to 15% of the market. Hyundai (+9.9%) also goes against the negative market and climbs one spot on 2021 to land on the third step of the podium. As a result Peugeot (-6.5%) drops to #4 while Opel (-2.9%) leapfrogs past Citroen (-16.2%) and Volkswagen (-17.1%) to #5. Kia (+13%) and Toyota (+12.1%) lodge the largest gains in the Top 10. In the LCV ranking, Renault (+47.1%) overtakes DFSK (-32.7%) to take the top spot, with Ford (-10.1%), Mitsubishi (-3.3%) and Toyota (-2.8%) in tow.
