Unique State by State rankings now accessible – Finest Promoting Automobiles Weblog

The Ford F-350 delivers 6 Top 10 state finishes in 2022.

In partnership with JATO Dynamics, we can share with you today separate rankings of the Top 10 best-selling vehicles for each U.S. State over the Full Year 2022. This data is exclusive to BSCB, you won’t find it anywhere else. The methodology for this ranking is different from the monthly U.S. data we publish, with pickup variants counted separately – which makes a lot of sense as they are basically different vehicles altogether. This way, the Ford F-Series is split into F-150, F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty and up, the Chevrolet Silverado into 1500, 2500HD and up, Ram 1500, 2500 and up, etc.

Light trucks win 48 of 52 states vs. 50 in 2021, the states going to cars are Arizona, Florida, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico. Among these trucks, 28 wins go to pickups vs. 30 in 2021, 19 go to crossovers, the same amount as in 2021 and 1 goes to a van like last year. 4 cars win a state vs. 2 in 2021, 2019 and 2018 but 4 in 2017, 6 in 2016, 8 in 2015 and 12 in 2014.

The Toyota RAV4 signs 45 Top 5 state finishes, the most of any nameplate.

Like in 2021, there are no States with no light trucks in the Top 5. Only one state has only pickups in their Top 5 (North Dakota) vs. 2 in 2021 and 3 in 2019. 6 states have no pickup in their Top 5 vs. 6 in 2021 (Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma and Rhode Island). 6 states only have U.S. models in their Top 5 vs. 6 in 2021: Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota while two states have an All-American Top 10: Michigan and North Dakota. Oregon, Puerto Rico and Rhode Island have no U.S. model in their Top 5 vs. no state in 2021.

The Ford F-150 dominates state wins once again with 26, exactly like in 2021 but vs. 28 in 2019 and 31 in 2018. And once agin the Toyota RAV4 adds to its state wins compared to a year ago at 16 vs. 10 in 2021 and 8 in 2019. The Toyota Corolla signs 2 state wins as does the Camry while all other state winners only have one win: the Honda CR-V (New Jersey), Ram 1500 (Alaska), Toyota Tacoma (Hawaii), Tesla Model Y (California), Chevrolet Equinox (Ohio) and Ram Promaster (New Hampshire).

The Ford F-Series wins 26 states in 2022.

Looking at Top 5 finishes, this time the Toyota RAV4 dominates with 45 vs. 36 in 2021 above the Ford F-150 at 39 vs. 36, the Ram 1500 at 30 vs. 33, the Toyota Tacoma at 18 vs. 13 and the Toyota Camry at 17 vs. 11. The Chevrolet Equinox goes from 1 Top 5 finish last year to 11 while the Subaru XV goes from 1 to 8 and the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD from 1 to 6.

The Ram Promaster is #1 in New Hampshire.

As for the heavy duty pickup segment, notice the Ford F-350 Super Duty #3 in Montana, #8 in Idaho, South Dakota and Utah, #9 in Wyoming and #10 in North Dakota, the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD #3 in Alaska and Iowa, #4 in Missouri and Utah, #5 in Montana and North Dakota, #8 in Wyoming, #9 in Kansas and Texas and #10 in Kentucky, the Ram 2500 #5 in Wyoming, #6 in Montana, New Hampshire and Utah, #8 in Louisiana, #9 in Oklahoma, the Ford F-250 Super Duty #5 in District of Columbia, Louisiana and Montana, #6 in Kansas and Texas, #7 in Utah, #9 in Mississippi and #10 in Missouri and the GMC Sierra 2500HD #8 in Arkansas and #10 in Alaska.
