Greater than 25,000 Mitsubishi Outlanders recalled

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is recalling 25,653 examples of its Outlander and Outlander Plug-In Hybrid EV (PHEV) because a software issue may cause the rear-view camera to be temporarily disrupted when reversing.

This recall affects 2022 and 2023 model year Outlander and Outlander PHEV vehicles.

“Due to a software issue, the rear-view camera image may be temporarily disrupted when reversing,” said the company in its recall notice.

“If the rear-view camera display does not continually display the rear-view image when reversing the vehicle, it could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.”

If you own an affected vehicle you’ll be contacted by Mitsubishi Motors by mail to present it to your preferred dealer to have the software updated, free of charge.

If you have further questions you can contact Mitsubishi Motors Customer Service on 1300 131 211.
