British Airways over the weekend restarted service between London Heathrow and Beijing Daxing airports, the carrier announced Monday. The route had been suspended since January 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Flights will operate four times weekly.
The flights will include BA’s newly designed Club Suite business-class cabin with direct-aisle access, a suite door for privacy and flat-bed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The cabin also has 40 percent more storage that previous, Wi-Fi, 18.5-inch entertainment screens, high-definition programming, PC/USB power, a new pillow and quilt, new amenity kits and an “improved dining experience.”
BA also has a joint partnership with China Southern Airlines which allows for single ticketing for transfers and frequent-flyer benefits that include “greater opportunities to collect points,” the ability to book through both airlines’ websites and apps, and enhanced lounge access, according to BA.
