Travel technology provider Sabre has reached an agreement to distribute Air Canada’s New Distribution Capability content for Sabre-connected travel agents, the companies announced Tuesday. Air Canada said it expects to activate its NDC content in Sabre “within the coming months.”
Once launched, the distribution cost recovery fee previously announced by Air Canada will be waived for Sabre-connected travel agencies using the NDC path, according to the carrier. In April, Air Canada announced it would start to levy on June 14 a per-ticket fee of US$20 to US$30 on bookings made through traditional EDIFACT-connected channels as it makes its push for NDC distribution.
