2023 Mahindra XUV700 worth and specs

Mahindra has priced the new XUV700, a new three-row SUV that replaces the defunct XUV500.

It’s on sale this week. First revealed in August 2021, its local launch was delayed due to global supply chain woes.

Compared to the XUV500 its replaces, the XUV700 is 110mm longer and has a 50mm longer wheelbase.

While its dimensions are similar to the three-row Scorpio – it’s 33mm longer but 27mm narrower – the XUV700 is quite different to its showroom-mate.

It’s a unibody SUV with seven seats and front-wheel drive – we won’t get the all-wheel drive or five-seat options here – while the Scorpio is a body-on-frame four-wheel drive SUV with six seats.

It also differs in powertrains. The XUV700 is petrol-only in Australia, while the Scorpio is diesel-only here.

The XUV700 uses McPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link setup at the rear, with frequency-selective damping.

Unlike the Scorpio, the XUV700 will come with a range of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) from launch, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, Smart Pilot Assist, and traffic sign recognition.

  • 2023 Mahindra XUV700 AX7: $36,990
  • 2023 Mahindra XUV700 AX7L: $39,990

It’s mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. All models are front-wheel drive.
