Michael Bosstick’s Haircare Secrets and techniques Revealed

Happy Father’s day to all the dads, father figures, and single parents doing both. Today is for you. I thought it would be fun to share some of Michael’s tried & true hair products because…

A lot of you have been asking about his hair (for real – this isn’t an influencer thing, so many of you actually want to know) so what a perfect time to lay it all out for you.

In this post we’re going to go over Michael’s little hair routine and favorite products. One thing I know for sure is that his biggest hair secret is using a brush from 1992 that is so used, you just wouldn’t even believe it. In fact, I even named it OLD BLUE and whenever he acts up I threaten to throw it out the car window, then bring back all the little remnants and scatter them on his pillow. But that’s neither here nor there. Let’s get into his routine.

Michael Bosstick’s Haircare Secrets

Oribe signature shampoo and conditioner

This specific one is weightless but with a very rich feeling. So it nourishes and detangles without making your hair feel greasy or heavy. This is Michael’s go-to (and he is very particular). He probably washes his hair only once a week but when he does it’s with this. Sometimes he uses Flamingo Estates shampoo and conditioner too.

BeautyBio scalp microneedler

He loves to microneedle his scalp for circulation and hair growth (as if he needs help there). It’s good for overall scalp health and also reduces dandruff and dry flakes. I got him hooked on this cause stimulating hair follicle is good for hair growth so I like it if he does his hairline every night.

Scalp massager

Not to brag, but I got him into this. If he’s lucky I’ll do it for him while we’re relaxing. You can read all about it in this blog post. Again, it’s strengthens hair follicles, increases blood flow and feels so fucking good. I do this in the shower so I leave the massager there and it gives Michael a little nudge nudge to do it.

Redken Texture Paste

This is the real secret to his hair. He’s been using it since I met him and has bottle and bottles. It’s sticky and has some of my not so favorite ingredients, but he swears by it. Michael loves a paste. He puts a dime sized amount in his palm then works it through and finishes off with his comb. He buys it in bulk so I have to hide half of it in the garage to free up some space.

Mason Pearson comb

These combs are so classic and chic. I use the brushes every day. It’s superior and here’s why. It’s so nicely crafted and just timeless. The point on the end helps you part your hair wherever you want too. Michael loves this and I have the white brush and got Zaza the little pink one (which she loves when she finally lets my brush her hair.

Plain black ball hat

Sometimes he’ll wear a hat and he likes these ones from Amazon. They fit super well and really elevate a casual look.

Henry Rose Windows Down fragrance

When he’s done his little hair dance, he likes to finish off with a few spritzes of this fragrance. It’s genderless so I love it too. In fact, it’s created by Michelle Pfieffer and you need to listen to her podcast episode all about the fragrance industry. Henry Rose is clean and EWG approved, which we get into in this recent episode. If you’re after a clean fragrance (or clean products in general) these 2 episodes are for you.

There you have it, Michael’s haircare routine. If you’re looking for gift ideas for the men your life, be sure to check out this year’s Father’s Day gift guide (Father’s Day is tomorrow so they won’t arrive in time, but use it as a resource for birthdays etc.).
