Thanks to the concentration of crypto founders and investors in Dubai, the city is now home to a variety of major crypto conferences. Here are 5 of the main events that businesses and crypto enthusiasts can check out in Dubai in 2023.
METAVSummit
January 12, Ritz Carlton DIFC
The METAVSummit is a one-day expo focused on the intersection of blockchain and metaverse technologies. The goal is to take a closer look at how cryptocurrencies and NFTs can combine with virtual reality to create fully digital economies in the metaverse.
The summit expects to host more than 3,000 attendees, of whom more than 75% are CEOs of blockchain or metaverse startups. The company behind METAVSummit has been based in Dubai for more than 10 years and has deep connections with the local Web 3.0 startup community. So, it’s a terrific networking opportunity for anyone who’s looking to get ahead of the metaverse curve.
The METAVSummit will include speakers like crypto analyst Carl Runefelt, Ceras Ventures’ Sarah Abuagela, and GAIA Everworld’s Afzal Subhani.
Blockchain Life 2023
February 27-28, Atlantis The Palm
The 10th annual Blockchain Life conference is coming to Dubai in late February 2023. This conference covers all things blockchain, with emphasis on cryptocurrencies and mining. As for certain sub-industries like crypto gambling and online casinos, UAE currently prohibites these, although other crypto niches are welcomed with open arms.
Blockchain Life is expected to bring together more than 4,000 attendees, including startup CEOs, VC investors, crypto miners, traders, developers, and regulators. There are more than 70 speakers planned with talks by representatives from Animoca Brands, Polygon, Circle, KuCoin, Ankr, and more.
In addition to the keynote speakers, attendees at Blockchain Life can expect panel discussions, networking hours, pitches from crypto startups, and an expo with hundreds of the world’s most prominent blockchain companies. There’s even a grand yacht afterparty where attendees can chat with some of the world’s best-known crypto whales.
Crypto Expo Dubai
March 8-9, Festival Arena
The Crypto Expo is all about the world of cryptocurrencies. This expo is expected to bring together more than 10,000 traders, investors, analysts, and exchange representatives to discuss the future of digital currency.
That includes everything from finding new ways to facilitate wider adoption of crypto to better trading algorithms to working with regulators to ensure rules around cryptocurrency don’t stifle innovation. The expo is also a place where new traders and investors can learn more about the current state of the crypto market and how to dive in.
Crypto Expo Dubai hasn’t yet announced its lineup of speakers or sponsors. Last year’s speakers included CEOs and COOs for a variety of new crypto tokens, several crypto analysts and VC investors, and crypto exchange executives. The expo plans to host more than 60 speakers at this year’s event.
6th International Conference on Healthcare and Digital Health
March 9-11, Ghaya Grand Hotel
The theme of the 6th International Conference on Healthcare and Digital Health is “Reimagining the Future of Healthcare through Digital Health.” While it’s not directly centered on crypto in the same way as other Dubai summits this year, it’s worth checking out for anyone interested in how digital assets and blockchain technology could impact global healthcare.
Blockchain developers and data analysts will be especially featured at the event to provide a glimpse into how this new technology could be applied to health. While it’s unlikely that VC investors will have a big presence, this is a great opportunity for new startups to network with researchers, clinicians, pharmaceutical companies, and biomedical engineers.
Future Blockchain Summit
May 10-12, Dubai World Trade Center
The 6th Future Blockchain Summit is perhaps the flagship crypto event in Dubai this year. This conference is expected to bring together more than 100,000 visitors from around the world to discuss the future of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, Web 3.0, and virtual assets.
Summit speakers include Alex Chehade, the executive director of Binance UAE; Sebastian Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox; Lennix Lai, director of OKX; Alex Alexandrov, co-founder and CIO of Velas; and many more.
The Future Blockchain Summit’s impact will be even greater because it’s happening in the same place and at the same time as the GITEX Impact conference. This includes the Food for Future Summit, the Future Urbanism Expo, and Xverse. So, participants can see how the future is coming together not only with blockchain, but also metaverse technology, logistics changes, and smart cities.
