[SHOT 2023] New Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP55 – Multispectral Riflescope

Pulsar has just released their new Thermion Duo DXP55 thermal imaging riflescope.

Apart from a high-end 640×480 pixels thermal sensor it also has a 4K CMOS 3840×2160 daytime digital video camera, so you chose which channel you would like to use for your hunting. With the Picture-in-Picture function, you can also combine the two channels.

The Thermion models look like traditional riflescopes, and use normal 30 mm rings as attachment to your hunting rifle. The Thermion DUO DXP55 will be available from Q1 2023.

Thermion Duo DXP55: modern way of hunting

Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide announces a new addition to the Pulsar Thermion Duo DXP
line. You can now choose between the two multispectral riflescope models – the previously
introduced Thermion Duo DXP50 and the brand-new Thermion Duo DXP55, which is coming
to the Shot Show 2023 trade show in Las Vegas.

New page in the history of Pulsar
If you follow Pulsar news, you may be familiar with our first ever multispectral riflescope, the
Thermion Duo DXP50. With its exceptional thermal imaging detection capabilities and the magic
of full-colour daytime observation, this scope opened a new page in our brand’s history.
But we didn’t stop there – we are now bringing another surprise to Shot Show 2023 – the
Thermion Duo DXP55. This is a slightly different version of this brilliant device and a pleasant
surprise for long-distance admirers.

Dual convenience of thermal and digital
Before explaining the differences, let’s take a look at the modern technologies the two devices
share. In both, the synergy of thermal and digital imaging results in enhanced observation
informativeness and provides the hunter with dual convenience.
The Thermion Duo DXP is based on the best proven solutions and components of the Pulsar
flagship riflescope – the Thermion 2 XP50 Pro, except that it comes with the turret that works as
a 4k full-colour channel for daytime hunting.
The new scope features high-precision ambidextrous focusing knobs. It comes with a fin lever,
which does the job of precise focusing of the thermal channel perfectly.

With this riflescope you’ll be able to locate game and reveal its trophy qualities under all weather
conditions – rain, fog or frost. Switching between the two channels is fast and simple. Just a
click of a button and you can enjoy high sensitivity thermal imaging or the precision of daytime
digital in eye-catching full-colour mode.

Enhanced quality of daytime observation
The game changing difference between the two Thermion Duo DXP models is a higher base
magnification of the daytime channel in the new Thermion Duo DXP55 model. Which is 4x for
the DXP55 compared with 2x in the DXP50.
The Thermion Duo DXP50 version features an equal field of view for both – thermal and digital –
channels. After introducing this model at the end of last year, we heard your feedback and
designed the DXP55 featuring the powerful capabilities of the 4k digital camera. It allows you to
zoom in on your target up to 16x without losing image quality.
This enhancement improves detection capabilities and precise long-distance shooting through
the digital daytime channel. In other words, this scope is ideal for hunters of smaller game at
long distances.

Superb capabilities of thermal imaging
Using the Thermion Duo DXP55 as a daytime riflescope is simple and easy as the lens does not
require focusing.
This riflescope is equipped with a high sensitivity European-made thermal imaging sensor with
less than 25 mK NETD. The sensor captures minimal temperature differences when observing
in conditions of low temperature contrast.
The 640×480 pixel resolution ensures exemplary detail and identification of the target and the
surrounding landscape.
The size of the sensor allows for a wide field of view of the thermal channel for comfortable and
informative observation.
The field of view of the digital channel is slightly narrower in the Thermion Duo DXP55 due to
the higher base magnification, which, as mentioned, brings other perks to the table.
Combined use for multispectral magic
The potential of the high-sensitivity sensor is fully revealed in the thermal imaging channel with
the fast aperture F50/1.0 germanium lens. That is the highest detection efficiency under any
weather conditions at any time of day.
And the combined use of thermal and digital channels with the help of the Picture-in-picture
function reveals the full magic of multispectral technology.
Our new riflescope implements modern image processing algorithms which open a new level in
image detail, clarity and contrast. Using a wide range of mid-tones, it is possible to render
complex and highly informative scenes.
The new model features outstanding observation range capabilities – an object as tall as 1.8
metres can be detected at 1800 metres in complete darkness. While during the day, the

Thermion DUO’s thermal imaging channel helps locate game despite fog, haze and other
precipitation.
You will also enjoy the visual aesthetic of this modern riflescope. It resembles a classic daytime
sight mounted on standard 30mm rings. A flexible and time-proven solution.
The Thermion DUO DXP55 will be available from Q1 2023.

It’s difficult to understand how a Multispectral Riflescope works, so check out this video for a better understanding.

The Thermion Duo DXP55 thermal imaging riflescope will be shown at stand #11419 at Shot Show 2023, or you can find a direct link to the products here:
