Chopped Fiat has us going ‘dude, the place’s the opposite half of your automobile?’

YouTubers from Italy have chopped a first-generation Fiat Panda from the windows down to create the world’s lowest car.

Carmagheddon rebuilt the car after finding it in a scrapyard. Everything from just underneath the windows was cut off, leaving just the car’s pillars, window sills and glass, front and rear windscreens, and roof.

At the start of the two-part series, the video follows the team picking out the car at the scrapyard and beginning the cutting process.

In a wise decision, the team chose to cut along the creases on the doors.

Once the vehicle was cut, two dolly plastic wheels were fitted under the bonnet and two larger rubber wheels were fitted at the rear.

Once the team reinforced the body to hold its two-stroke engine, they began installing its steering column, engine and a long piece of wood for the driver to lay on.

Once fully assembled, the ‘car’ had just about three centimetres of ground clearance.

Inside the car, between the steering column, engine and dark tinted windows, there is no visibility from the inside to out so a GoPro is affixed to the roof of the Panda with the footage live-streamed to a mobile phone inside the car.

The final video ends with one of the team crawling into the car and driving it down the road using an iPhone to identify hazards and pot holes.
