Report: Uber CFO Chai to Depart

Uber CFO Nelson Chai is expected to step down, making him the “most significant executive to depart since the company went public in 2019,” according to a Bloomberg report

Chai joined Uber in September 2018 and helped guide the company through its initial public offering and “fix its balance sheet,” according to Bloomberg. Prior to joining Uber, Chai was CEO of insurance company Warranty Group. He also held positions at CIT Group and Merrill Lynch & Co., according to his LinkedIn profile.

Uber declined to comment during the company’s “quiet period” leading up to its second-quarter earnings call.
