The 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary sale is here! I shop this sale each and every year for staple pieces I will wear all year.
I swear there’s only one time a year when I go absolutely berserk for clothes and it’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This year I told myself I wasn’t going to go crazy and lo and behold… I did. Items that I’ve been wanting for years (like On Cloud sneakers or a Free People sweater) finally go on sale.
I always share exactly what I purchase, recommendations for the best deals, and items I’ve had for years. This post is designed to give you the best idea of what to get and what to skip!
Some of these items only go on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, which is why it’s such a big deal.
Everything I bought last year is still in my closet and are some of the things I wore, and still wear, the most.
What are the dates for the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary sale?
The #NSale officially opened July 14th for all Nordstrom card holders and July 15 to the public. If you don’t have a Nordstrom card (I personally do and recommend it) you won’t get to shop early. Public access begins July 17th and the sale ends August 7th 2023. (WOW so late this year).
I HIGHLY recommend that you shop online. After going in store it was disappointing to see how much wasn’t available in store. Also, it’s just easier for sizing!

Shhh! I know. But the cool thing is I only share things I wear and wear and wear (and have worn for years) and I keep it on the less expensive side.
Every single year, even when I lived abroad, I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Here’s why you should listen to me: I scour the site for things I know that are wearable, flattering, and the best deals. Most items I share are under $50 or $100. Some of my favorite items this year are actually under $25!
I’m also just a regular person, not a fashion blogger, so that means you won’t see me with a new outfit every day. I want things I wear to last for years. I recently read a post from a fashion blogger who ordered nearly 1,000 items from Nordstrom. WHAT?! Not only is that not realistic, it’s just plain crazy (and wasteful) to me.
I wear a size large and size 12 in pants. I often LOVE something on a skinny fashion blogger or model, but that doesn’t always translate for me. I hope to share how these pieces really look so you can make a decision. I think it really helps to see what these pieces look like on (and on someone that isn’t a supermodel) so hope this helps!
Why do I shop the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? Because it’s high quality, built to last clothing that I’ll wear for years plus plenty of beauty, gifts, and accessories. Stuff that never goes on sale, is on sale and it’s stuff I know I’ll wear for a long time.
This year I’ve taken a different approach to the sale. Not only am I sharing things I currently have or am buying, I did TONS of research on how these are reviewed across the web. Not just Nordstrom’s website. I also got feedback from y’all! For example, for the On Cloud tennis shoes I looked at reviews from Amazon, Dick’s and more plus asked you your opinion on Instagram!
Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to shop. No, it’s not the cheapest, but the brands they carry are some of my all time favorite (Zella, Madewell, Free People) and their customer service and return policy is unbeatable.
Things will go out of stock from time to time (and many things go fast). But to make the most out of the sale I recommend creating a wish-list on Nordstrom’s site, that way you’ll be notified if an item comes back in stock or when it’s available for you to shop. Because things do sell out quick, I buy it because I can always return.
Don’t buy stuff you don’t need. I always make a list so that I can get things I know I will actually wear. Are snake skin print booties super cute? YES! Will I wear them? Hmm, probably not. Or, you can find them much cheaper (like this option).
Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns. So if you’re unsure of the right size, order a couple. You can always send it back! Or if you don’t like something, there’s no worries.

BEST LEGGINGS & ACTIVE WEAR OF THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE
If you buy one thing from the sale, make it a pair of Zella leggings. They are just my favorite and when they say “live in” they mean it. I wear leggings nearly daily and I always go with Zella. I’ve talked about Zella leggings on this blog for 5 years and will continue. Also with this price it’s just worth it!
I get a large in the leggings.
There are lots of styles of Zella leggings and I have them all. The “live in” leggings are good for every day. The “restore” leggings are great for lounging. The studio luxe are good for working out.
I am obsessed with Alo leggings! I’ve tried so many over the years and these are hands down my favorite. They hide everything and suck you in like no other! Plus they are great to work out in! The air lift leggings I’m wearing in red are the best! I have a collection now and buy them whenever they’re on sale. I’m in the large.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings are the best dressy legging. These suck. you. in. So be prepared. I get a large! These always fly off the shelves. Spanx also carries patent leather leggings too!!
I LOVE these Natori Dynamic Contour Underwire Sports bra. I especially love these for travel. You can put this on and wear it all day. I bought two a few years ago year and convinced so many friends to purchase these! They call it a sports bra but you can easily wear this under t-shirts too. I get a 36 C. You can wear it regular OR criss-cross the straps.
Nike sports bra. This is the perfect sports bra!! It’s so comfy and soft and good for high impact.

My favorite part of the sale every year!!
I bought this in green but it comes in a bunch of different colors. It’s cropped but not too short, just a very flattering look!
This is selling out soooo fast! Some people say you can get it a bit bigger and wear it as a dress but on me that looks frumpy. But it’s the perfect oversized sweater.
I’m such a sucker for a good cardigan and this one is my favorite this year! I bought it in gray in store and ordered it in tan online!!
This sweater is a fantastic price and comes in tons of colors.
I know, I know another cream sweater?! I like what I like. This one is so soft and so pretty! One of my favorite items of the sale! It comes in multiple colors. I’m in the large.
Ribbed Cardigan (Size large) // Tank top // Leggings
I’ve had my first circle cardigan from Barefoot dreams for years! It’s held up shockingly well. It is pricey but it lasts for a while. I love the color options this year for the circle cardigan, especially this new rosy color. I’m in a medium. There’s also the pretty ribbed cardigan that’s ultra luxe. I am in the large. I’ve just never had a bad experience with Barefoot dreams.
Perfect way to elevate a look! Comes in 3 colors and works with so many looks.

I buy this flannel every year!! I LOVE this year’s colors so much. I recommend sizing down one or two. I’m in the large in the blue and a medium in the brown.
This is my GO TO airport top. I’m obsessed. It sells out so fast but comes in tons of colors. My favorite way to wear this is with zella leggings, this top, and a flannel tied around my waist.

It’s a vest year. Did I need 2 vests? No. Did I buy two I sure did. I love love love these! I paired the above with this crewneck in white and this zella top in green.
I did not think I would buy this. But it was just TOO GOOD y’all. I love the mix of extra soft fleece an corduroy details!
Woven Shacket // Fleece Shacket
The price of both of these is so good! If you need a shacket this is the time. I love the weight of the woven shacket and the fleece shacket is a bit more light.

Pink Satin Skirt // Plaid Skirt
To be honest, wasn’t LOVING the dresses and skirt options this year as much. I always pick up a plaid skirt. The pink satin skirt is a good transition piece – wear it with a loose top or a sweater.
Red Dress // Ruffle Hem Orange Dress
I love this ruffle hem dress! Comes in black and this rust orange color too.
This red dress is light and pretty and perfect for fall.
