Delta Readies New JFK Sky Membership

Delta’s new Sky Club at John F. Kennedy International Airport is set to open July 25.

Delta Air Lines on Tuesday will open its newest Sky Club lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Terminal 4 near Gate A7.

The nearly 14,000-sq.-ft. space will seat more than 250 people. Coupled with the previously opened Sky Club on Concourse B, which seats about 550, Delta will offer club seating for more than 800 guests at JFK.

Upon entering, customers will see a 360-degree bar that anchors the main seating room, which includes a fireplace and views of the airfield. An outdoor Sky Deck operates year-round. In addition, the space includes tucked-away sections that provide more privacy, and there are four soundproof Framery booths near a space dubbed Business Lounge West. Most seats in the lounge are outfitted with electric outlets, including USB ports.

“There are many areas in this lounge that will make it great for business travelers,” Delta managing director of Delta Sky Club Claude Roussel told BTN. “The lounge is designed in such a way so that if you want to relax and have a glass of wine, you can go on the Sky Deck or sit around our 360-degree bar. If you need to be busy and work, we have different areas in the lounge that you can do that that are much quieter. Each space that we created here has more of a hospitality feel.”

Earlier this year, Delta also opened new lounges in Minneapolis and Kansas City. Next on the list, according to Roussel, are Sky Clubs for Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal E in August and a relocated lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport possibly as soon as September. The carrier also is expanding its Fort Lauderdale club by 3,000 square feet and adding 75 additional seats, Roussel said.

“Between this year and next year, we’re adding about 3,000 seats in total across the Sky Club network,” he said.
