Honda Australia has released specifications for the new-generation 2024 CR-V line-up, following last week’s pricing announcement.
As previously reported, there will be four distinct trim levels with several variations – i.e. some offer seven seats or all-wheel drive – with the new range including an Australia-first e:HEV hybrid flagship.
Pricing starts at $44,500 drive-away for the entry-level VTi X and tops out at $59,900 drive-away for the top-spec e:HEV RS. Turbocharged VTi models offer the choice of seven seats in X and L trims, while five-seat L and LX versions offer AWD as well.
Honda has confirmed the sixth-generation CR-V will go on sale from September 1, with pre-order deposits being taken now.

Engines
CR-V VTi models use a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine shared with the smaller ZR-V and Civic.
In the CR-V, the four-cylinder turbocharged engine generates 140kW and 240Nm – rev ranges are currently not available.
Drive is sent to the front wheels as standard via a continuously-variable transmission (CVT), with on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) available as a cost option for the VTi L and as standard for the high-grade VTi LX.
The single-spec e:HEV RS features a 2.0-litre petrol-electric hybrid system comprising of a four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine teamed with two electric motors.
System outputs are rated at 135kW and 335Nm – 20Nm more than the Civic e:HEV and ZR-V e:HEV.
Efficiency
- CR-V VTi X: 7.1L/100km
- CR-V VTi X7: 7.3L/100km
- CR-V VTi L: 7.1L/100km
- CR-V VTi L AWD: 7.4L/100km
- CR-V VTi L7: 7.3L/100km
- CR-V VTi LX AWD: 7.7L/100km
- CR-V e:HEV RS: 5.5L/100km
Dimensions
The new CR-V is 4694mm long, 1864mm wide, 1692mm tall, and rides on a 2700mm wheelbase, meaning it’s 69mm longer, 10mm wider, 2mm taller, and has a 41mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing model.
That puts it at the larger end of the mid-sized SUV segment among models like the Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail, which also offer an available third row of seating, while the recently introduced ZR-V is at the smaller end with other two-row models like the Mazda CX-5.
By comparison, the ZR-V measures 4567mm long, 1839mm wide and 1621mm tall, on a 2654mm wheelbase.
Servicing and Warranty
Honda Australia covers its range with a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
There’s also premium roadside assist for the same period, as well as five years of capped-price servicing.
Honda is currently capping scheduled maintenance at $199 per visit for the first five scheduled services for new models.
