Lufthansa in early June 2024 plans to add Frankfurt service to Raleigh-Durham and Minneapolis, two new U.S. destinations, the carrier announced Tuesday. Each route will operate year-round with weekly flights.
Service between Frankfurt Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport will use Airbus A330 aircraft, while service between Frankfurt and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport route will use Boeing 787 aircraft. The addition of these two destinations will bring Lufthansa’s U.S. gateways to 27.
The carrier also will launch daily direct service between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Munich Airport for the summer 2024 season using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This flight complements Lufthansa’s Seattle-Frankfurt service, according to the carrier.
In addition, Swiss on March 28 will launch daily flights between Zurich Airport and Washington, D.C.’s Dulles International Airport. On May 10, Swiss also will launch seasonal service between Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport and Zurich, operating five times weekly using Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The carrier also offers daily Montreal-Zurich service.
Further, Lufthansa in 2024 plans to increase frequencies between Frankfurt and each Austin, Dallas, Orlando, and Calgary, as well as increase San Diego-Munich service to daily from three times weekly.
