Chevrolet (+67.8%), Fiat (+150%) prime market up 21.7% – Finest Promoting Automobiles Weblog


Fiat sales are up 150% year-on-year in August.

The Uruguayan new light vehicle market is up 21.7% year-on-year in August to 5,074 sales, bringing the year-to-date tally up 7.6% to 35,985. Atop the brands ranking, Chevrolet (+67.8%) and Fiat (+150%) vastly outpace the market to 17.8% and 15.2% share respectively vs. 16.9% and 10.7% year-to-date. Note Fiat is now #2 year-to-date, displacing Suzuki down -58.6% to #9 this month. Four of the next five models completely underperform: Toyota (-14.4%), Renault (-15.1%) and Hyundai (-19%) are all down while Nissan (+3.7%) is soft. The only bright light is Peugeot, up 73.3% year-on-year and up 91% year-to-date. Below, Citroen (+243.5%), BYD (+942.9%) and Chery (+100%) stand out.
