Travel technology provider and marketplace Mondee is expanding into Brazil with the acquisition of B2B travel company Orinter, which serves both domestic and outbound travel needs in the country, the company announced. Mondee will integrate Orinter’s 4,800 travel agents into its marketplace and also gain “valuable cross-sell opportunities” from Orinter’s direct relationships with Latin American hotels, according to Mondee. The company is using a combination of cash and stock for the acquisition, valued at about $40 million. Mondee chairman, CEO and founder Prasad Gundumogula indicated that the company plans more acquisitions this year, saying the Orinter acquisition will “kickstart our 2023 M&A activity.”
