Suzuki Alto (+7.5%), Hyundai Tucson (+12%) defy market off – Greatest Promoting Automobiles Weblog

The Suzuki Alto holds 30.7% of the Pakistani market in September.

The Pakistani new light vehicle market is slowly getting back to normal in September at -24.1% year-on-year to 8,312 units according to local association PAMA. That’s better than the -34.9% of August and the -57% of July. The year-to-date total  remains devastated at -64.1% to 63,747. Note Changan and Kia do not report sales figures to PAMA but are reported to be quite successful here. Suzuki (-29.5%) falls slightly faster than the market but still manages a 50.9% share vs. 43.8% so far this year. Toyota (-39.1%) is in worse shape at #2 with 19.2% share vs. 27.2% YTD while Honda (+4.8%) defies the negative context to 16.1% share vs. 13% YTD. Sazgar Haval shoots up 261.4% and stays in 5th place. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (+7.5%), Hyundai Tucson (+12%) and Sazgar Haval H6 (+261.4%) are the only gainers in the Top 10.
