Recently Lauryn was at her goddaughter’s birthday party and met some wonderful women. After talking she learned that they had this blog where together they test products, try on clothes and bring their community the best of the best recommendations. Sound familiar?
Lauryn does the same when it comes to beauty so she immediately invited Gretchen, Laura and Allison on the blog to share their top 10 finds with you. You can expect baking mix, beauty balm, and some recipes. It’s really a mixed bag, which is what we love.

Hi there! Just Try It is made up of three Phoenix-based friends (Gretchen, Laura and Allison) giving honest reviews for women aged 40 and up JTI is a resource and a community. We try it so you don’t have to. At the end of the day, we’re all searching for ways to improve upon ourselves, our home, our family, our lives.

Today, we’re here to share our Top 10 Finds with you after buying, trying and testing. You can be sure we approve all these recommendations and hope you love them as much as we do.
♡ Wild Rye Baking Mixes
This is a game changer for the non-baker. We love these boxed mixes and the frostings for their simple, quality ingredients and homemade taste. You’d never guess it comes from a box. The gluten-free almond flour pancake mix is honestly the best pancake mix we’ve ever used. We make them weekly for our families. The gluten-free olive oil cake is also a favorite as it is beyond delicious. Adding a lemon glaze on top is a must.
JTI Tip: make the Peanut Butter Coffee frosting and use as a dip for pretzels!

You never knew you needed a bougie salt until now. These finishing salts top almost everything we make in the kitchen. We even travel with them because once you taste it, you can’t go back! See Salt is harvested fresh from France and the bagged Fleur de Sel is a pantry must. Our favorite flavors are: French Butter (sprinkle on a baked potato), Celeri (on top of eggs), Herbs de Provence (great for meats and veggies), Lemon (asparagus will be next level) and the Fleur de Sel + Pepper (a must when grilling burgers).
♡ M-61 PowerGlow Peel Pads
These exfoliating facial pads with glycolic and salicylic acid have changed our skin tone and texture. Apply after cleansing and allow to sit for one minute. Follow with serums, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Allison uses daily, Laura and Gretchen use 2-3 times a week. The glow from these peel pads is noticeable. Even the most sensitive skin can tolerate them. Start slow. Get ready for skin compliments galore.
♡ Gap Cheeky Jeans
The fit of these jeans is exceptional, and it is the “Mother” of all dupes. This “cheeky” style is very similar to the “Tomcat” Mother denim jeans which are much more expensive. As for the fit, these jeans suck you in and make the straight leg style work on a body with curves. We love these so much that we own multiple pairs. Distressed denim, not distressed, black, khaki, white and leather. They are fantastic and run true to size.
♡ Loving Tan 2 Hr Express Tanning Mousse
Looking at your legs and feeling pale? You need this instant self tanner. We love a great tan and going in for a professional spray tan is not always convenient and can be expensive. In a matter of minutes with this self-tanning mousse, you’ll have the best tan that makes you look like you’ve been at the beach for a week. For optimal results, use after exfoliation and with a tanning mitt. We recommend the “dark” formula. Trust us.
♡ Jones Road Beauty Miracle Balm
A miracle is right. If you’re into a dewy look, you must try this balm. Jones Road Beauty is a fantastic clean beauty option we love. Heard of Bobbi Brown?! Well, this is her line. Start with the “au natural” for the perfect highlight on top of your cheekbones, brow bones and tip of your nose. There are several other shades we love as well that give you a pop of color in the best dewy way. Think a no-make-up, make-up look.
♡ Amazon tennis necklace
Can diamonds be duped? They sure can. Diamonds around the neck are the the ultimate luxury and this necklace is exceptional and the price won’t break the bank. The quality is fantastic. We love layering along with our other favorite necklaces to create a “neck mess.”
♡ oHHo CBD Recovery Balm
We’ve dipped our toe in many CBD brands and love this balm. Everyone needs this on-hand. It soothes sore muscles, aids injuries and has even been successful in improving skin rashes. We also use this balm on our kids for growing pains and tired muscles.

♡ Gold Rush Cocktail
There’s a famous quote, “I feel like girls who drink whiskey have good stories.” Well, we love good stories and whiskey! Allison tried this cocktail years ago at a restaurant in Indianapolis and we’ve been making it ever since. Use any whiskey you like. We prefer Bulleit Bourbon (orange label) or the Classic Whiskey Del Bac made in Tucson, Arizona. Whiskey not your thing? Just try it. The fresh lemon juice cuts the bourbon bite. Raw egg whites can be controversial. If you can’t stomach it, be sure to give the cocktail shaker a few extra shakes.
♡ The Perfect Summer Salad
If it’s good enough for Jennifer Aniston, it’s gotta be good. This salad is our take on the famous salad Jennifer ate every day for five years. We haven’t fact-checked that story, but we like the way it sounds. This salad is not just for summer, it’s refreshing throughout the year. You can easily substitute or throw in seasonal vegetables. It will keep well in the fridge for 4-5 days and you can add any protein if you like. We love enjoying with grilled chicken or a piece of salmon.
JTI Tip: This salad is a great school lunch option for teens.
