Suzuki resumes domination, locations S-Cross and Vitara on high – Finest Promoting Automobiles Weblog

The Suzuki S-Cross is by far the best-selling car in Hungary in September.

The Hungarian new passenger car market slips -3.2% year-on-year in September to 9,123 units, which means the year-to-date volume is also down -3.2% on the same period a year ago at 83,009. Suzuki (+35.5%) returns to the top spot it last held in December with a dominant 17.7% share vs. 9.4% year-to-date where it ranks third. Toyota (+30.2%) is also in great shape at #2 with Skoda coming in at #3 with 10.4% of the market. Volkswagen stays at #4 while Opel shoots up 7 spots on August to a splendid 5th position with 5.4% share vs. 3.8% year-to-date. Nissan (#10), Peugeot (#13) and MG (#18) also evolve significantly higher than their YTD level.

Model-wise, here too Suzuki is dominant anew with the S-Cross (+54.8%) at #1 with 9.6% share, exactly double that it holds year-to-date, and the Vitara (+31.7%) at #2 with 7% share, also double its YTD level. The Skoda Octavia (-17%) sinks year-on-year and is relegated to 3rd place with 4.5% of the market vs. 5.3% YTD. The Toyota Corolla (-8.5%) stays in 4th place despite a year-on-year loss, as is also the case for the Kia Ceed (-14.5%) at #5. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+89.2%) scores the largest gain in the Top 10, with the Opel Corsa (+9.2%), Toyota RAV4 (+7.6%) and Hyundai Tucson (+6.2%) also beating the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, the new Toyota Corolla Cross reaches #11 and the Toyota C-HR (+252.9%) and Nissan Qashqai (+131.5%) post surreal lifts.
