These are the ten most-liked Airbnbs on Instagram

Airbnb offers practical housing options for a long-term trip, extended stay or vacation with a big group or family.

However, part of the allure of the home-sharing service is spending hours scrolling through the over-the-top, out-of-this-world accommodations that put “dream” in “dream trip.”

After all, you can book literal castles, homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and even … a potato, through the service.

That said, Airbnb does have its ups and down. Most recently, users have been put off by sky-high fees, especially related to cleaning, which the company has said it will work to be more transparent about.

That hasn’t stopped people from around the world from turning to Airbnb to reserve — or at least dream about booking — a picture-perfect property straight out of a fairytale. Now, Airbnb has shared its annual list of the most-liked properties on the company’s Instagram account, which has amassed more than 5 million followers.

In 2022, the most-liked properties include a charming U.K. cottage, a nature-filled cabin tucked away in a bamboo forest in Taiwan and even a tiny glass house in Brazil.

Remember that even though Airbnb doesn’t have a loyalty program, there are still plenty of ways to maximize your spending while booking to earn points, miles or cash back.

Casa de Sanchez — San Jose de Ocoa, Dominican Republic

At just $80 a night, Casa de Sanchez is a great value that offers a rustic-meets-industrial stay. The one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse is perched high in the mountains in the Dominican Republic. It’s a seemingly beautiful place to disconnect, where guests can cook a meal in the full kitchen and breathe in the fresh, crisp air — thanks to the massive side doors that open up to expose Instagram-worthy mountain views.

Glass Hut in the Forest — Santa Catarina, Brazil

What goes better than tiny houses and glass cabins? How about a tiny glass cabin tucked away in a forest set in a canyon in Brazil that costs just $96 a night? With the Glass Hut in the Forest listing, you get all that and more.

The property features a glass ceiling so you can stargaze from the bed. There’s also a firepit and an outdoor bathtub for a nature-infused soak. Guests can truly disconnect here as there’s no electricity or Wi-Fi. Don’t fret, though, battery-powered lights keep the cabin illuminated.

The Step — Montgomery, New York

At 168 square feet, The Step in upstate New York is another adorable tiny house, and this one is set on a farm near a river.

Guests can fish in a pond, enjoy a disc golf course, attempt a corn maze in the fall and fawn over all the farm animals. What’s not included is running water or a shower, but there is an outhouse. However, for such a charming A-frame, even the most glamorous of us can rough it for a night — especially considering the experience starts at $150 a night.

Cliff House — Monterey, California

The Cliff House, which starts at $1,044 per night, is on the pricey side compared to others on the list. It’s also the exact opposite of the much-loved tiny houses.

This oceanfront pad on Highway 1 has six bedrooms, three bathrooms and Pacific Coast views that seem to stretch forever. There is enough space for a large group, and, since it’s perched on a California cliff, the home is both pretty and private. It’s also less than 30 minutes away from Big Sur or Carmel.

Villa Pairidaeza — Kalkan, Turkey

In Turkey, you can get a lot more for less money. In fact, with rates starting at $206 per night, the Villa Pairidaeza offers five beds in a three-bedroom villa right on the Mediterranean Sea.

Not to mention, this chic pad with old-world influences also has an infinity pool with views of the mountains, the sea and lush greenery. There’s air conditioning and Wi-Fi, meaning this might be the perfect oasis for a digital nomad looking to soak up the Mediterranean sun.

Apartment with Great View — Rio Negro, Argentina

In Argentina, mountain views from floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors are the star of Apartment with Great Views — a two-bedroom, two-bathroom listing that sleeps up to four guests. This apartment is on an 18-hole golf course overlooking Lake Gutierrez and near Bariloche, making it the ideal home base in one of the most beautiful parts of Argentina. Rates start at $200 a night.

Boutique Studio — Ghent, Belgium

In Belgium, a design-forward studio apartment that includes breakfast comes at the incredible rate of just $71 per night.

About five minutes from the center of Ghent — which is full of old-world charm and architecture — this studio has everything one could need for a dreamy European vacation. It features lots of storage, a surface to work from and a French press to stay caffeinated. Don’t expect a full kitchen, but with plenty of restaurants nearby, who wants to cook anyway?

Your Home in Paradise — Benalauria, Spain

At more than 100 years old, this charming stone, lime and wood cottage in the Andalusian mountains is the stuff of fairytales.

It’s complete with a stone fireplace, outdoor areas to soak up the sun and mountain views, a comfy bed and a bathroom. Guests can spend their days hiking the nearby trails, enjoying the area’s popular adventure sports or simply relaxing with a glass of Spanish wine in hand — all for just $58 a night.

Nature’s Paradise — Chenggong, Taiwan

It doesn’t get much better than Nature’s Paradise, a room rental in a house in Taiwan.

A room rental might seem a little scary, but this one includes a private bathroom, an in-room fireplace and a wall of artful windows with wooden framing that opens up into a lush, green bamboo forest.

This tasteful accommodation brings the power of nature indoors and puts the “BnB” in Airbnb. The listing claims that there are dogs, cats and three other rooms available to rent on the property. Rates for this chic, nature-filled room start at $115 a night.

The Granary — Rotherfield, U.K.

Rounding out the list is The Granary, a one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage with a picture-perfect pond.

This Airbnb, in the English countryside south of London, feels almost Shakspearean. It sits on a 500-year-old farm called Coes Estate that offers guests a swimming pool and hot tub, beautiful gardens, a croquet lawn and tennis courts, as well as seven acres of vineyards to explore.

You can get all of that — and the joy of the quiet countryside — for just $192 a night.
