Dozens of Hamilton County, Indiana restaurants are offering outdoor seating. We highlighted a few unique, can’t-miss patios in Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield and the Northern Towns.




3UP Rooftop Bar

3UP describes itself as a “swanky rooftop lounge” focused on hand-crafted cocktails and small plates. Pose for pics in front of the live greenhouse wall with flora and fauna. The rooftop bar provides panoramic views of the Main Street and the Carmel Arts & Design District down below.

Boathouse Kitchen & Swan Dive

Located on Morse Reservoir, Boathouse Kitchen & Swan Dive is a popular waterside restaurant in northern Hamilton County. The nautical theme is found throughout with vintage photographs of locals water skiing and swimming – not to mention a swan dive statue over the bar. Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream

Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream is right on the Monon Trail with easy access for pedestrians and bicyclists. Sit outside and you can enjoy a front-row seat of the action on the trail. No worries if you work up a big appetite; the Big Ugly burger is a full pound of meat. Eat it all and you get your picture on the wall of fame, where it belongs.

Westfield


Countless online reviews have hailed Chiba as the “best sushi in Central Indiana.” Everything on the menu is made from scratch, including the sushi rice and sauces. Enjoy a California roll and sake on the patio, which includes a stage for local bands and musicians to perform.

Field Brewing strives to make more than just tasty beer with its chef-inspired menu. Patrons love the outdoor space featuring a green space with lawn games. Field even grows its own herbs and vegetables on the property.

Four Day Ray Brewing

In the Nickel Plate District, pick a pint at Four Day Ray Brewing and take it outside on the dog-friendly patio with a fire pit. Order a round of appetizers for the table, like the popular pretzel & beer cheese.


“We have really enjoyed the outdoor patio to allow us to dine in safely during the quarantine. They have good space between the tables, and the wait staff all took things safely and seriously. The patios are usually poppin’ on Park Street in Westfield, and The Italian House on Park is no exception. The patio space has a casual, backyard feel, which makes it a popular spot for wine and pasta al fresco with friends.

As the name suggests, LouVino is a wine-inspired restaurant. The menu features small plates with a Southern twist. Dine alfresco on the patio with large red umbrellas and string lights overhead. The restaurant is located in the heart of Fishers’ growing Nickel Plate District.

Midtown Plaza is a popular gathering space in the warm months. Pop inside Sun King for a beer or cocktail and grab food from the local vendors in the food hall. The second floor rooftop patio is the perfect spot to enjoy a pint with friends with a great vantage point of downtown Carmel.

When the weather is warm, it’s likely that the patio at Union Brewing Company is full. Many bicyclists hop off the Monon Trail to enjoy a pint by the fire pits and listen to local music. Hungry? Stop by Jamaican Reggae Grill next door for a jerk chicken sandwich.

Find Vivante French Eatery on the first floor of Hotel Carmichael. Chef Joseph Hsu presents approachable French fare in an elegant atmosphere. Sit on the covered patio adjacent to the Monon Trail with up-close views of the Palladium.

Watch the sunset at Wolfies Grill with gorgeous views of Morse Reservoir from the deck. It’s easy to see why this is a popular place to eat in the summertime. Order a craft cocktail like the Cucumber Smash or The Captain’s Runner.

Woodys Library Restaurant

You’ll have to dine inside to see the building’s history as a Carnegie library, but the patio at Woodys Library Restaurant is where most patrons sit on a warm, breezy day. It’s open until 3 a.m. on weekends, making it the perfect spot to hang out late.
