The 40-year industry leader in fishing eye protection, Costa Sunglasses is bringing a retro legend set of frames back to the market, the newly remastered Grand Catalina. A long beloved set of frames the original Grand Catalina originally introduced in the 80s and worn for decades afterward by such angling legends and Costa Pros, Flip Pallot, and the late Jose Wejebe. The new Grand Catalina sports the much-beloved heritage aviator shape and removable side shields that led to its initial fame but also comes with modern features of Costa’s Pathfinder Series. This includes sweat management channels, vented adjustable nose pads, removable side shields (offering two different looks), and seamless surfacing. These new retro-inspired frames melds together modern performance with classic bold styling and lines.

“I remember it like it was yesterday, heading out for a day on the water, the original Grand Catalina in tow. They were the pinnacle of purpose built eyewear then, and with the passion and technology infused in them many moons later, they are today,” said Costa’s longest tenured Pro Flip Pallot. “Costa has always been on the forefront of leading by example, whether it’s protecting the waters we call home or crafting world class products, and the new iteration of the Grand Catalina frames is certainly no different.”
