Birmingham, Ala.-based travel management company Adtrav on
Feb. 1, 2025, will begin a five-year contract to manage the U.S. General
Services Administration’s FedRooms government lodging program, Adtrav confirmed
to BTN Wednesday.
Adtrav earlier this year had been awarded
the contract to manage FedRooms, which is an optional hotel program offered
by GSA to any U.S. government and military personnel traveling on official
business of fewer than 30 nights.
CWTSatoTravel, the incumbent provider which had managed the
program for many years, had protested the GSA’s decision, but BTN stablemate
The Beat reported GSA
denied the agency’s protest. Subsequent filings show CWTSato unsuccessfully
challenged the manner in which GSA evaluated Adtrav’s pricing proposal.
Adtrav will manage FedRooms sourcing, including negotiations
with participating hotels, and oversee data management and reporting. Travelers
using FedRooms properties would not book through Adtrav, however, instead using
authorized government booking tools—ConcurGov, E2 Solutions or the Defense
Booking Tools—or individual federal agency TMCs.
Adtrav also will handle the management of the U.S.
Department of Defense’s preferred lodging program, according to the TMC.
“We’ve been eagerly anticipating this opportunity for
years, as it aligns perfectly with the services we
already provide to many of our corporate clients,” Adtrav president and
CEO Roger Hale said in a statement.
