With the Accelerate Your Elite Status with Air Canada Flights offer, you’re eligible to earn bonus Status Qualifying Miles on select cash bookings with Air Canada.
This targeted offer is valid through to October 31, 2023, which leaves just over a month to take action if you stand to benefit.
Aeroplan’s Targeted Offer for 4,000 Bonus Status Qualifying Miles
Aeroplan has launched the Accelerate Your Elite Status with Air Canada Flights targeted offer, which runs until October 31, 2023 at 11:59pm Pacific Time.
With this promotion, you’ll earn 4,000 bonus Status Qualifying Miles when you book and travel on a round-trip flight with Air Canada in an Economy (Flex) fare or higher, to any domestic, US, or Sun destination by October 31, 2023.
Since this is a targeted promotion, you’re only eligible for the offer if you received a communication directly from Air Canada. Otherwise, there’s no need to opt-in or register for the offer.
To earn the bonus SQM, you must have booked an eligible cash fare for round-trip flights to eligible destinations that take place between September 19, 2023 at 12:01am Newfoundland Time and October 31, 2023, at 11:59pm Pacific Time.
The eligible fare types listed in the promotion are as follows:
- Economy (Flex)
- Economy (Comfort)
- Economy (Latitude)
- Business Class (Lowest)
- Business Class (Flexible)
- Premium Rouge
It’s worth noting that Premium Economy (Lowest) and Premium Economy (Flexible) fares are excluded from the list; however, in the terms and conditions, Business Class (Lowest) and Business Class (Flexible) fares are listed twice, which may be an error.
Economy (Basic), Economy (Standard), Unlimited Flight Passes, and Aeroplan flight rewards aren’t eligible for this offer, including Points + Cash reservations.
Flights that are eligible for this promotion include flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express, and Air Canada Rouge.
Destinations that are eligible for this offer must originate in Canada, the US, Mexico, or the Caribbean, and fly to destinations within Canada, to the United States, to Mexico, and/or to the Caribbean.
The bonus SQM will be deposited in your account up to 6–8 weeks following the end of the offer.
Be sure to attach your Aeroplan number to your booking, otherwise you may not receive the bonus SQM.
Is This Offer Worth Pursuing?
It’s worth noting that this offer is much less valuable than another targeted offer that was sent out to members, through which you can extend your elite status by earning 10,000 Aeroplan points.
However, since not everyone was targeted for that promotion, if you’ve received this offer instead, it’s worth considering in the overall context of your 2024 Aeroplan Elite Status strategy.

On the other hand, if you just need the SQM, then look for the lowest-cost round-trip flights from your home airport and back. Just be sure to book at least an Economy (Flex) fare, and make sure you’re flying to and from an eligible destination.

You’ll earn 1,000 SQM for every $10,000 (CAD) spent on a core card, such as the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card, the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card, or the American Express Aeroplan Card, and you’ll earn 1,000 SQM for every $5,000 (CAD) spent on a premium card, such as the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card, the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, or the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Card.
Therefore, you may not even have to make a qualifying booking to earn enough SQM to push you over the next threshold by the end of the year.
