AHLA Names Basis Head Maietta CEO

The American Hotel & Lodging Association has named Rosanna Maietta, the former CEO of the AHLA Foundation, as its president and CEO, effective Nov. 14, the association announced Thursday.

Maietta will succeed Kevin Carey, who had served as the association’s interim CEO since Chip Rogers resigned in March. Carey will return to his prior role as senior executive vice president and COO, according to AHLA.

Maietta has a long history with AHLA, serving as its EVP of communications and public relations and as CEO of the AHLA Foundation, the association’s charitable arm. She left that position in 2022 to become chief communications officer and senior counselor to the CEO of the American Clean Power Association, her current position.

AHLA in a statement noted Maietta’s “deep understanding of AHLA’s mission, operations, financials, and people” and her “solid relationships with AHLA’s key stakeholder groups.”

“With Rosanna’s reputation as an astute leader and strategist and her proven track record of advancing core missions, evolving organizations, and achieving strong financial outcomes, I am confident that she is the right leader to build on AHLA’s momentum,” said AHLA chair Kevin Jacobs, who also is Hilton Worldwide’s CFO and president of global development.

AHLA said Maietta was selected by a search committee that included “leading CEOs and executives of the major brands, owners, and management companies, representing a cross-section of AHLA’s members.”

Rogers departed AHLA after a five-year stint as CEO. According to his LinkedIn profile, he currently serves as special advisor for the Ervin Graves Strategy Group, a consulting and lobbying firm.
