Alaska deal: E-book one-way flights for as little as $59

If you’ve been looking to book a spring trip, look no further: Alaska Airlines is offering one-way flights for as low as $59.

As a part of its spring sale, Alaska has cheap one-way flights for various routes across its U.S. network. You can fly to cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle at a discount. If you’re on the West Coast, you can book cheap flights to Hawaii.

There aren’t set travel dates for this Alaska deal, but you can find these low fares between February and May — specific travel dates largely vary by route.

Since there aren’t set travel dates or a deadline to book these tickets, we suggest purchasing your flights quickly as fares can change frequently and seats can fill up.

Deal basics

Airline: Alaska Airlines.
Routes: Boise; Los Angeles; Newark; Portland, Oregon; San Francisco; Seattle and other cities in Alaska’s U.S. network have discounted flights.
How to book: Directly on Alaska’s website.
Travel dates: Generally from February through May.
Book by: As soon as possible.

Sample flights

While low fares are available from February through May, we found that March generally had the cheapest fares. There are also particularly good discounts for cross-country flights and flights from the West Coast to Hawaii.

Here are some flights we’ve flagged. Note that these are the featured fares for one-way flights only.

  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), starting at $59.
  • Boise Airport (BOI) to Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC), starting at $79.
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Kahului Airport (OGG), starting at $119.
  • San Diego International Airport (SAN) to Kona International Airport (KOA), starting at $129.
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to SFO, starting at $149.
  • EWR to SAN, starting at $159.

Given that there aren’t set dates for this Alaska deal, you have to play around with Alaska’s fare calendar to find the lowest possible round-trip fares.

For example, a trip from Los Angeles to Maui in April offered the cheapest fares, starting at $119.

However, keep in mind that the fares for returning flights are slightly more expensive.

The total cost for a round-trip flight from Los Angeles to Maui would be $247. Keep in mind that this fare and all the other fares shown here in this Alaska deal are only for the airline’s Saver class.

Alaska’s Saver class is a bit more restrictive than the Main fares — passengers flying in the Saver class cannot choose seats or make any changes to their flights.

Bottom line

If you want to book a quick trip or fly across the country at a discount, these bargain Alaska fares are ideal.

Even though the carrier only advertises the low one-way trip prices, the round-trip prices for certain routes are still significantly cheaper — especially for the ones from the West Coast to Hawaii.

These fares may not be available for long, so we recommend booking your flights as soon as possible.
