Intermittently, we intersperse our hunting, firearm, and outdoor adventures with some food content because you cannot have exciting exploits without a bit of fuel to keep you moving along the way. Additionally, the older that I get – I’m currently 37; too young to complain about my age yet too old to wake up pain free in the morning – I am hypersensitive to what I am putting in my body. Reading labels, avoiding Red Dye #5, and other wholly unhealthy things that have somehow become commonplace in our society. So, I am always excited to try new things (healthy things) and better myself. Even if they are vegan and I am a staunch meat-lover. A few months ago we were approached to review JAMBAR energy bars, and by all first-hand looks, they appeared to be a healthy, quick snack. So, in today’s AllOutdoor Review, we will take a look at the new JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars in their Variety Pack of Jammin’ Jazzleberry, Tropical Trio, and Musical Mango. Let’s dive in!

Nutritional Facts – JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars
For anybody who is picking up one of these JAMBAR energy bars on-the-go at a grocery store or gas station, you could simply flip the bar over to get a quick read of the nutritional profile. If you are looking to buy a box or case of these directly off of JAMBAR’s website, they don’t list the nutritional facts at all for prospective buyers. To me this was a small red flag (maybe), but they are also a fairly infant company. So maybe that is something they will look to add to their website very soon. I actually had to get all of the nutritional facts off of Amazon.com. For the JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars in their Variety Pack of Jammin’ Jazzleberry, Tropical Trio, and Musical Mango that we are reviewing here today, the MSRP is set at $36.00 for a 12-bar Variety Pack.
Overall, the macronutrients (Fat, Protein, and Carbohydrates) have a good ratio for anyone who is active and is needing a bit of fuel in the form of an on-the-go energy bar to get them through their day. I also appreciate that you can actually pronounce all of the ingredients in this bar, and there are no glaring health concerns (like Red Dye #5 or other completely unnecessary chemicals). Below JAMBAR lists out all of the flavors that you receive in one of their Variety Packs.
- Our Vegan Variety Pack Box contains 12 bars, with 4 in each of our vegan flavors: Tropical Trio, Jammin’ Jazzleberry, and Musical Mango
- TROPICAL TRIO – A bright and breezy blend of tropical fruits, banana, pineapple and coconut
- JAMMIN’ JAZZLEBERRY – A jazzy combo of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
- MUSICAL MANGO – Energy goes exotic with delicious mango and a blend of ancient whole grains
The nice thing about these JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars is that all of the ingredients are actual food and not something fabricated in a laboratory that is purported as being food. As JAMBAR so eloquently states on their website: “Every ingredient in our energy bar you could eat right off a spoon.”
That’s the beauty of real food: it looks like what it is and you could eat it by itself. JAMBAR is pure and natural from the get-go, crafted in small batches in our own facility by employees who share our mission. Ancient grains, organic berries and nuts, premium chocolate. Proteins from sunflowers and milk. Real syrup, juices and honey as sweeteners. And we put it together in a convenient, incredibly tasty bar. You’re too busy getting your jam on to carry a spoon, right?
Taste – JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars
So, how did Jammin’ Jazzleberry, Tropical Trio, and Musical Mango taste?… Over the past few months I have been eating through the Variety Pack that JAMBAR sent out to us, and I shared some with my lovely wife, Andrea, as well as my neighbors who are practicing vegans. To start off, let’s take a look at the Tropical Trio. This had a strong banana taste with light hints of coconut. I couldn’t really taste the pineapple at all. It was soft, chewy, and barely sweet from the natural flavors. Overall, it was good for fuel as an energy bar, but it was not too exciting.
The next flavor from the Variety Pack we’ll take a look at is Musical Mango. This flavor was one of my favorites because it had decent sized chunks of mango in it – and although I am not a big fruit lover – I do like dehydrated mango as a snack. This energy bar was lightly sweet like the previous one with a soft, chewy texture. Mango was definitely the star of the show for this energy bar with no other fruit flavors coming through.
Finally, we have the Jammin’ Jazzleberry flavor; the jazziest of the flavor names. This flavor was my wife’s favorite because it had a good granola and grain taste to her, and there was no added sugar, just the natural sugar from the various fruits in this energy bar (note: there is no added sugar in any of the JAMBAR energy bars). I, too, liked this flavor. It was sweet with so many berries in it, and it had a strong “mixed berry” flavor; it was difficult to pinpoint the taste of any individual berry.
Final Thoughts – JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars
So, what are my final thoughts on the JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars in their Variety Pack of Jammin’ Jazzleberry, Tropical Trio, and Musical Mango?… These all had a lot of granola and healthy grains in them with their various fruit infusions. There was no added sugar, and everything was natural. I give it a thorough 10 of out 10 for being healthy with only the good stuff inside. For taste, it is a little subpar. I would say 6 of out 10 for taste because many of the fruit flavors were subtle or faint, and these energy bars strike your palette more as fuel than they do as a treat. I would still reach for these on a shelf if I need a healthy snack because nutrition and health are a number one priority to maintaining longevity and a healthy life.
In closing, I want to say thank you to JAMBAR for allowing AllOutdoor and myself the opportunity to try out their new JAMBAR Organic, Vegan Energy Bars in their Variety Pack of Jammin’ Jazzleberry, Tropical Trio, and Musical Mango.
