Tasmanian Tiger is a global supplier of premium professional military, tactical, and police equipment founded by Tatonka GmbH in 1999. While many of us in the states have never heard of this company, they are very popular in Europe and especially in their home country of Germany. In addition to having high manufacturing standards, they are very proud to offer factory tours on any Friday you might find yourself in the area. Tasmanian Tiger sent me a review copy of their Tasmanian Tiger Modular Rifle Bag last year for review and it has accompanied me on most of my range trips since then.
While this bag was provided to me free of charge and I get to keep it indefinitely, this will not affect my opinion on this piece of gear and Tasmanian Tiger will only be allowed to preview this review after publication.
The Tasmanian Tiger Modular rifle bag is great for carrying longer firearms like shotguns and 16-inch barreled AR-15s.

Quality and Organization – Tasmanian Tiger Modular Rifle Bag
The primary material of the pack is Textreme 6.6 and it comes from Tasmanian’s parent company Tatonka. Textreme 6.6 is composited of 100% polyester with 600 den threads and is a robust and versatile fabric. It also features a PU coding to give it some water protection. Some of these stand-out features on this bag are a detachable carrying strap, and the two caring handles both on the horizontal and vertical sides of the bag. Both of these handles make it much easier to get your bag in and out of the back of your truck bed or SUV.
This bag also comes with a detachable interior pouch that can be mounted to any Velcro surface. There is reinforced padding on all sides of this bag. This means that regardless of how bumpy the roads are your rifles/shotguns will be safe. Finally, there are two separate external pockets with dividers. These external pockets are designed to hold A.R. 15 style magazines and other miscellaneous gear. I found that the smaller pocket worked great for holding two additional pistols or extra ammunition. There is also a small Velcro loop panel for attaching ID patches on the exterior of the bag.
All zippers on the bag are robust and from YKK so you know they’re going to last forever. I found the module rifle bag to be especially useful when I was transporting a longer shotgun or rifle to the range as my other range bags are not long enough to hold a full-size hunting shotgun.
Internally, a large hook and loop Velcro field runs the top third of one side of the bag. This is where you can attach additional Velcro-backed pouches just like the one that’s included with this bag. Underneath the Velcro are several sections of configurable strapping. This strapping can be moved around to suit whatever type of firearm you’re trying to secure in this area. Unfortunately, if you were trying to carry an AR15 and a shotgun there’s really not enough space inside this bag if the AR15 has any sort of optics mounted on it. There is certainly plenty of room for two shotguns or two slimmer hunting rifles.

Wrap Up – Tasmanian Tiger Modular Rifle Bag
Overall, there are a lot of organizational options in this bag, I do think that the $200 price tag for this rifle bag is A fair price for the features and size. If you’re someone who is not a big fan of hard cases because of their weight and just wants a soft rifle bag I think this is a really good option. Again I found it most useful when I was trying to transport anything with a longer barrel on it.
