Alpha & Omega Corn Maze (Once more!)

Hey friends! How are you? How was your weekend? Our weekend began at the soccer fields on Friday night for Chase’s soccer team’s first win of the season. It’s been so cool to see Chase’s confidence grow on the field and he even scored two goals!

Saturday

On Saturday our plans for the day took us to Alpha & Omega Corn Maze, one of our favorite fall destinations. We first visited the corn maze back in 2019 and I’m fairly certain we’ve made the drive to Hamptonville, North Carolina every year since our initial visit!

(Somone should warn me not to look at throwback pictures first thing in the morning because phewyyy those pics have me feeling things this morning. Dang, kids grow up FAST.)

Alpha & Omega is located just under an hour away from our home and the drive it more than worth it becuase there’s so much to do beyond just the corn maze.

Between the rubber duck races, corn play pits, pony rides, tractor rides, pig races, a mini train ride and sand play areas, our family easily spent more than three hours at Alpha & Omega. We lucked out with sunny weather in the mid 70s and it was such a beautiful day to be outside!

We kicked off our time at Alpha & Omega with the pig races and then made our way to the corn maze. In the past the corn maze has proved rather challenging (in a good way!) but this year we checked the QR code map once before entering and made it out in just under 15 minutes. The big kids are becoming increasingly motivated to try to make it through as fast as possible.

After 3+ hours of play, we piled into the car and drove toward home, stopping briefly at Publix to pick up sushi and pizza for dinner (a winning combination, I assure you).

Sunday

Sunday was a “get things done” day in our house. Do you ever feel like you lose entire days on the weekend to random stuff you have to do around the house? That was a much of our Sunday. We spent the morning at church but after we headed home, it felt like several hours flew by, most of which were dedicated toward cleaning, getting organized for the week ahead, food prep, laundry, yardwork, etc.

Eventually we were ready for a break and rounded up the boys and Pepper to head out to a local park for some sunshine and playtime.

Chase and Ryan practiced a little soccer together while Rhett, Ryder, Pepper and I played on the playground. Eventually we all came back together for the main event: A rocket launch!

For Ryan’s birthday, the boys gave him some model rocket kits for them to make and launch together but unfortunately the nearby soccer and football fields had people on them so we were not able to launch any of the big rockets. Thankfully we packed the rocket toy Ryder picked out (aka the toy we got in case the model rockets were a fail) which ended up being a HUGE hit! It launched so, so high and will 100 percent be a toy we give to some of the boys’ friends for birthday presents this year because it was so darn cool. (If it’s something that interests you, make sure you take it out to a large field with no trees around because it launches high and far!) 10/10 toy for sure!

By the time we made it back home, we were ready for showers, jammies and family movie night! We absolutely loved the show Alaska Animal Rescue on Disney+ so we decided to try Jungle Animal Rescue and it was a little more intense than we bargained for in terms of some of the animal operations. We’re hoping it might cool down a bit in upcoming episodes because we loved Alaska Animal Rescue so much and were hoping to find something similar. If you have any family-friendly animal shows (with real animals, not cartoons), please let us know!

And now it’s time for me to get this Monday rockin’. I hope you all have a great week and thanks so much for making my blog a part of your day!
