Nearly 70 percent of companies said they are using traditional AI and other “new technology” to manage certain aspects of business travel, according to American Express’ Amex Trendex report, based on responses from 501 people responsible for making decisions about their company’s business travel programs.
Forty percent of respondents said they are using AI to see that employee expenses adhere to company policy, according to Amex.
About two-thirds of respondents to the survey, fielded over a week in mid-July, said safety and security was a top concern when leveraging AI solutions for business travel. That was more than 10 percentage points above other factors, including functionality (56 percent), training (53 percent) and cost of the AI solution (53 percent).
