Corporate travel AI automation platform Amgine has named Travelocity founder Terry Jones as chairman of its board and has brought former president of GetThere and Travelocity Business Ellen Keszler onto its board, the company announced.
Jones has served on Amgine’s board since 2022 and is succeeding former chair Stephen Burke, who has been chair since 2019 and is staying on the company’s board. Besides founding Travelocity and taking it public, Jones also cofounded Kayak and spent 24 years with American Airlines, including in the role of CIO.
“Since joining the board in 2022, Terry has played a critical role in helping set the direction for the company,” Burke said in a statement. “He has also been a close mentor and advisor to Greg Apple following his appointment as CEO late last year.”
Amgine began as the consumer-traveler-focused HelloGbye in 2012 but shifted to a managed business travel focus in 2018 and rebranded to Amgine in 2021. It specializes in helping travel management companies manage and respond to traveler emails, and Apple told BTN portfolio mate The Beat recently that it had 13 TMC customers in various phases of deployment.
Jones in a statement said the company “is incredibly well positioned to become the leader in AI automation for the corporate travel industry.”
In addition to leading GetThere and Travelocity Business during her 13 years at Sabre, Keszler has served on nearly a dozen travel industry company boards, most recently on the new slate of board members for CWT following its exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. “Her experience in business travel, and especially her roles with GetThere and several global TMCs, will serve Amgine very well,” according to Jones.
