After initial
rejections, JetBlue has secured slots at Schiphol Airport for the summer
2023 season for flights from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and
Boston Logan International Airport, making Amsterdam the carrier’s third
European destination, JetBlue announced Tuesday.
New York-Amsterdam service will commence in late summer,
with Boston service to follow. Flights will operate daily with Airbus A321 LR
aircraft with 138 seats, include 24
Mint Suite seats, according to JetBlue.
The decision comes a week after a Dutch
court ruled that the Dutch government failed to follow the law when it
sought to reduce the cap on Schiphol’s annual traffic movements, “giving
JetBlue confidence there is room for it to enter the market,” according to
the carrier.
JetBlue has been flying to London
since 2021 and will launch its Paris
service in June.
