Total U.S. air ticket sales in November increased 7 percent year over year to more than $7.2 billion, according to Airlines Reporting Corp., but the number of trips sold by corporate agencies dropped nearly 2.7 percent.
The total number of passenger trips settled by ARC in November increased about 1.1 percent to nearly 20.7 million. Those sold by U.S. corporate agencies, those with at least 70 percent self-reported corporate and government business, declined.
The November average price of a U.S. domestic roundtrip ticket was $576, up from $557 in October and $547 in November 2023. It’s the highest monthly such fare reported by ARC since October 2022.
For all agencies, total domestic trips settled in November dipped about 0.2 percent year over year, while international trips increased about 3.4 percent.
“November’s air travel data continues to show U.S. passengers prioritizing international destinations with year-over-year growth,” ARC chief commercial officer Steve Solomon said in a statement.
About 20.1 percent of November sales were New Distribution Capability fares, up 10.9 percent year over year.
