BCD Travel has added an “Instant Query” feature through its data analytics platform, DecisionSource, to enable travel managers to analyze more easily their travel data, the travel management company announced.
The feature provides capabilities including sorting, filtering and “build your own ad hoc queries,” with which users can select fields in BCD’s booked and transactional database and add them, rather than needing to export raw data to filter and group, according to BCD director of product planning Kate Shirley. It also includes emailing capabilities within the platform.
For example, users can identify travelers who booked an out-of-policy hotel or who are not using the online tool, BCD said. With the email tool, users could identify travelers going to a specific airport and communicate information directly to them about that airport—such as a notification of Uber and Lyft’s plans to cease operations in Minneapolis to travelers going there.
“We wanted to offer a data ninja of sorts, an engagement model for fast answers to specific program questions,” Shirley said in a BCD podcast. “Instant Query really provides that along with in-platform capabilities that no other platform offers.”
