The 34th annual Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) Under the Lock Fishing Derby returns to Peterborough this weekend with 3,000 stocked trout, 500 tagged fish, and more than $25,000 in prizes.
The nine-day event formerly known as the Peterborough Greenwing Fishing Derby takes place on the Trent-Severn Waterway below Lock 21 beginning Saturday, April 29. Prizes include fishing rods, tackle boxes, camping equipment, mountain bikes, and cash. The $1,000 big fish grand prize will be awarded to anyone who catches Walter, a giant rainbow trout.

Registration is $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional child per family registered at the same time.
Youth registration includes instant prizes on April 29 for the youth derby as well as entry into the all-ages derby. Fishing is open to registered adults ($25 per adult) from Sunday, April 30 at 9 a.m. through Sunday, May 7 at 4 p.m. The creel limit is two fish per person per day.
