Travel and expense blockchain technology provider Blockskye
has hired former American Airlines head of corporate sale Hank Benedetti as its
chief commercial officer, the company announced.
In the position, Benedetti is in charge of Blockskye’s
strategies to grow revenue and market presence, including enhancing customer
engagement, building strategic partnerships and taking advantage of new market
opportunities, according to the company. Blockskye co-founder and co-CEO
Michael Share in a statement said his “extensive experience in the travel
industry and his deep understanding of corporate sales will be invaluable as we
continue to grow and innovate.”
Benedetti earlier this year began
working with Blockskye as a consultant via Cory Garner’s Garner Advisory. Garner, a former AA distribution executive, left American four years ago. Benedetti was with American Airlines for
more than two decades and left in September 2023 as part of a
sales team restructuring at the airline. He confirmed to BTN he has now left Garner Advisory and no longer works with any third parties.
“Blockskye is at the forefront of transforming travel
and expense management through blockchain technology,” Benedetti said in a
statement. “I look forward to working with this talented team to deliver
innovate solutions in how businesses book, pay and track travel.”
The company said it has been attracting “top
talent” to accelerate its growth. In recent weeks, it announced the
hiring of former CWT VP of product management Erik Magnuson as its COO
along with the promotion of Dave Zitur, a former Travel Leaders Group executive
who has been with Blockskye from the beginning, to the role of president.
Blockskye’s technology is incorporated in Kayak for
Business’ new Enterprise solution, building off its
pioneering work with PwC U.S.
