The BMW X1 is up to #9 in Greece in September.
11,401 new cars hit Greek roads in September, a fantastic 32.5% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally is now up 26% to 104,510. Toyota (+74.4%) vastly outpaces the market to firmly hold onto the brands top spot with 13.5% share, Peugeot (-20%) is hit hard year-on-year albeit on a particularly high year-ago volume when it ranked #1 overall. Citroen (+141.1%) surges year-on-year and climbs to #3 overall ahead of Hyundai (+35.8%). BMW (+191.5%), Kia (+93.5%) and Opel (+55.6%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Cupra (+687%), Tesla (+246.9%), Jeep (+172.5%), Volvo (+160.5%) and Mini (+128.2%) stand out.
The Toyota Yaris (+61.1%) reclaims the top spot it last held in November with 5.9% share. In fact the Top 5 models all outrace the overall growth rate: the Citroen C3 is up 169.2% to #2, the Peugeot 208 up 200.6% to #3, the Hyundai i20 up 329.1% to #3 and the Opel Corsa up 52.9% to #5. It’s the Corsa that keeps the year-to-date lead with 5.1% share vs. 4.5% for the Toyota Yaris. #1 for the last two months, the Fiat Panda (-14.6%) is down five spots to #6 and still evolves above its yer-to-date level (#7). Another great month for the Toyota Yaris Cross (+112.6%) at #7 yet this is well below its YTD level of #4. Below, the BMW X1 (+1455.6%), Toyota C-HR (+354.7%), BMW 1 Series (+478%) and Tesla Model Y (+221.9%) all post surreal lifts.
