Brightline, Uber Companion for Rail Hyperlink

South Florida rail provider Brightline has partnered with Uber to bring ride-hailing services to its passengers within the Brightline app and website, the rail company announced Friday.

Customers now can book Uber riders to and from Brightline’s five South Florida stations—Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach—when booking their rail tickets.

Brightline offers two classes of service: Premium and Smart. Premium guests will receive complimentary Uber rides within a five-mile radius, according to the company. Smart guests can add a ride for a fee, without distance restrictions.

In addition, Brightline last week unveiled design plans for its new Orlando station, currently planned to open later this year. The 37,350-sq.-ft. station will be located in Terminal C at the Orlando International Airport, span three stories and connect directly to the airport’s parking deck C, which will have more than 350 parking spaces reserved for Brightline guests, according to the company.

Station passengers will have access to free high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations at every seat and 87 big-screen televisions, according to Brightline. Passengers will be able to access trains by escalator or elevator to the first level and board from one of two new train platforms. Brightline said the ride between Orlando and Miami is scheduled to take just over three hours.
