Carbon planning and analysis platform Clarasight has partnered with carbon data specialist Squake to enhance capabilities in reporting and forecasting, the companies announced.
Clarasight, which rebranded from Climate Club earlier this year, is integrating Squake’s API, which will enable it to provide customers with air, road, sea and accommodation carbon emissions data compliant with national and international standards. Providing precise carbon calculations via Squake will help companies better develop carbon reduction strategies and to assess better the effectiveness of those strategies, the companies said.
Speaking at BTN’s Tech Talk event in Chicago on Monday, Clarasight CEO and co-founder Adam Braun said the company works with customers representing about $1 trillion in market capitalization.
“For companies to achieve carbon ambitions going forward, they really need to treat carbon like a currency,” Braun said at the event. “That means we have to develop new capabilities, and those capabilities start by understanding your historical baseline … and what were the drivers. Using that information, how do we project out into the future and equip the leaders who are making these decisions … with the tools and capabilities to make better real-time decisions with their teams?”
