Condor will fly to Miami beginning in 2024

German leisure carrier Condor will be flying more of its colorful, striped aircraft to the U.S. next summer.

Condor will begin service between its Frankfurt home base and Miami International Airport (MIA) beginning in May 2024.

With its new Airbus A330-900neo equipped with lie-flat business-class seats, Condor will operate three weekly round trips between Germany and South Florida.

From Miami, Condor will be the second airline to serve Frankfurt, as German flag carrier Lufthansa already flies the route.

Condor’s service returns to South Florida for the first time since 2015, having last served the region from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

A growing A330-900neo fleet

The addition of its Miami service will grow Condor’s route map to a dozen U.S. cities next summer as it continues to expand its footprint in North America.

Even though it injects some competition into U.S.-Frankfurt routes, Condor will do so without being a true budget carrier.

As its fleet of A330-900neo jets grows, the airline is offering an increasingly compelling business-class product — something TPG saw in a sneak peek last year as Condor showed off its “newest and most luxurious inflight experience ever.”

The aircraft features 26 lie-flat business-class pods arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. Each has direct aisle access and is equipped with a 17.3-inch touchscreen display.

The aircraft also features four “signature Prime seats” upfront.

That’s on top of 64 premium economy seats and 216 economy seats on board.

Condor’s US route map expansion

Once Condor begins its service to Miami in May, its U.S. route map will include flights between Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and:

  • Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Miami International Airport (MIA)
  • Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP)
  • New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • Portland International Airport (PDX)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
  • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
  • Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC)

Passengers hoping to get a jump-start on booking European travel for next summer might consider Condor for direct access to Frankfurt — or for a connection to one of the carrier’s 100-plus other European destinations.

Condor can also be a particularly appealing option for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members. The two airlines’ partnership produced some fairly strong redemption options this summer.
