Cruise line to double ship capability from Philadelphia

Travelers will soon have even more cruise options from the City of Brotherly Love.

Within just months of announcing plans to home port its first ship from Philadelphia in almost 15 years, Norwegian Cruise Line revealed it will add a second vessel to its schedule.

Norwegian Pearl is the line’s latest vessel set to depart from the Port of Philadelphia to Bermuda, the Bahamas and other Caribbean locales. Pearl will join Norwegian Jewel, which will sail from Philadelphia to Canada and New England.

Sailings for both ships are scheduled to depart beginning in 2026. Norwegian Jewel, which can accommodate 2,376 passengers, will depart beginning April 16, 2026, while 2,344-passenger Norwegian Pearl’s cruise season from Philadelphia will begin Nov. 14, 2026.

Philadelphia hasn’t been an East Coast cruise ship hub for larger vessels since 2011. Currently, cruise lines sail from New York City; Baltimore; Boston; Norfolk, Virginia; and cruise ports along Florida’s east coast, such as Port Canaveral, Port Everglades and Jaxport Cruise Terminal.
