Meetings technology company Cvent later this year will bring group booking provider MeetingPackage’s 6,000-instant-availability venues into the Cvent Instant Book tool, the companies announced Tuesday. Through the partnership, Cvent customers will be able to book small and simple meetings with hotels and venues within MeetingPackage’s network directly on Cvent’s platform.
“The subject of process automation and digitization has really come to the fore as venues realize that manual processes have become unsustainable. This integration facilitates greater automation for a more seamless venue sourcing process, ultimately helping both the hotelier and event planner increase group business revenue with minimal effort,” MeetingPackage founder and CEO Joonas Ahola said in a statement.
The MeetingPackage move follows Cvent’s partnership with Amadeus on Cvent Instant Book in 2021. According to Cvent VP of product management Jim Abramson, the Amadeus partnership offered Cvent broad hotel coverage in the U.S., while the MeetingPackage deal helps the meetings distribution and sourcing platform access Europe. The integration will expose MeetingPackage content to a broader base of buyers, according to the companies.
It also signals for Cvent customers a move toward broader content integration, Abramson told BTN, which will capture brands and locations that are not formal Hospitality Cloud customers on the platform.
“Our expanding integrations helps us connect to hotels [that] have chosen a variety of solutions to manage their inventory available for group business,” Abramson wrote in an email. “We’re committed to partnering with leading organizations to expand our platform and enable deeper collaboration between buyers and suppliers.”
Cvent will add new and expanded integrations this year, he added.
Amadeus and MeetingPackage solidified a similar agreement last year.
