Delayed quartet of powered-up Audi RS automobiles hitting Australia in 2024

Audi is getting ready to unleash more powerful, focused versions of its RS4 Avant, RS5 Sportback, RS6 Avant, and RS7 Sportback to Australia in 2024.

The quartet of performance cars will touch down in Australian showrooms in the first half of 2024, which is later than initially planned.

The RS4 Avant and RS5 Sportback currently on sale locally will be replaced by the Competition versions revealed in Europe during 2022.

Under the bonnet is a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine pumping out the same 331kW and 600Nm as before, mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Audi has fitted a lighter exhaust system, and says it has retuned the engine and recalibrated the automatic transmission to deliver a different feel than is currently on offer.

Stickier Pirelli P Zero tyres are also on hand to help cut the 100km/h sprint time by 0.1 seconds, to 3.9 seconds.

Australian-delivered examples will feature 20-inch milled alloy wheels, adjustable coil overs, and a faster ratio for the steering rack.

The bigger RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback Performance have been treated to a power boost.

Their 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine packs 463kW and 850Nm, up 22kW and 50Nm on the outgoing car. The eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system have been retuned, the central differential is lighter, and Audi has stripped out 8kg of sound insulation from the cars.

The 100km/h sprint takes a claimed 3.4 seconds, and flat out you’ll be doing 305km/h.

A set of lightweight 22-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres will be optional.
