Delta, Thrust Carbon Be a part of IATA CO2 Join

Delta Air Lines will use and contribute operational data to the International Air Transport Association’s CO2 Connect emissions calculator, the industry organization announced Wednesday at its World Sustainability Symposium in Miami.

The carrier will contribute fuel-burn data from its 4,000 daily flights to CO2 Connect, and Delta will be able to provide customers with “greater transparency of their impact on the environment through flying,” according to IATA.

IATA on Wednesday also announced that Thrust Carbon would be added to the CO2 Connect distribution network. Thrust Carbon will process the data “according to their individual clients’ needs,” who then can incorporate the calculations into the flight selection process or use them for environmental, social and governance monitoring and reporting, according to IATA.
