Distinctive methods to redeem Alternative Privileges factors

Choice Privileges points can be useful for stays in expensive destinations, such as New York City or near ski resorts in the winter. But the program also offers some unique redemption options.

Choice award nights cost between 6,000 and 35,000 points in most destinations, which TPG values at $36 to $210. In this story, we’ll explore some exciting ways to redeem Choice points.

Suites for no upcharge

At many Choice properties, you can book suites and upgraded rooms for the same number of points as base-level rooms. For example, you could book a one-bedroom suite with a fireplace for the same points as a standard room at The Ridgeline Hotel-Estes Park, Ascend Hotel Collection, in Colorado.

Some Nordic Choice properties include breakfast and a light evening buffet in their rates. Even when redeeming Choice points, you can still enjoy these complimentary perks.

If you’re looking for a Choice hotel that includes breakfast and a light dinner in your rate, consider the following hotels:

  • Norway: Clarion Collection Hotel Kongsberg for 20,000 points per night.
  • Sweden: Clarion Collection Hotel Uppsala and Clarion Collection Hotel Slottsparken, both for 20,000 points per night.

Multi-bedroom vacation rentals

You can book various Bluegreen Vacations resorts using Choice points. When I wrote this story, I could book a variety of two-bedroom suites at the Bluegreen Vacations Fountains, Ascend Resort Collection, in Orlando, Flordia, for a last-minute trip.
