You may already know about the iconic Ronal Teddy Bear wheels, but you might be surprised to know these wheels weren’t the only animal-themed ones out there.
The second-generation Mazda 121, also known as the Autozam or Mazda Revue in other parts of the world, was available with rare Intra Koala wheels as a factory option for a very limited time.
Conflicting reports from a Czech Mazda club website, Reddit and various Mazda forums show these strange koala wheels were available as a factory option in either 1993 or 1994.
It’s unclear if the Intra Koala wheels were ever available as an option on the Mazda 121 in Australia, where it was affectionally known as the bubble car.
According to an eBay listing of four Intra Koala wheels from Bulgaria, these were manufactured in Germany and measure in at 13×5.5″ with a 4×100 bolt pattern, 62mm hub bore and 38mm offset.
For context, the Ronal Teddy Bear wheels are slightly larger at 14×6″, though they share the 4×100 bolt pattern and 38mm offset.
