EasyJet passengers who experienced canceled flights during the coronavirus pandemic were issued vouchers as an alternative to refunds, and the expiration date to redeem the vouchers is looming.
Originally slated to expire on July 31, 2023, EasyJet previously extended the deadline to Jan. 31, 2024. This extension is the final one the carrier is offering, meaning passengers have less than a month to use their COVID-19 travel vouchers.
Here’s everything you need to know.
When is the final deadline to redeem an EasyJet voucher, and when do you need to travel?
The crucial date is Jan. 31. This is the last day to book flights using the COVID-19 vouchers. Importantly, there is no deadline for actually traveling with these vouchers, meaning you can travel on flights beyond the booking deadline.
Remember that these vouchers are exclusive to EasyJet flights and cannot be used for EasyJet Holidays or other travel packages.
Can you still get a cash refund instead of redeeming a voucher?
Initially, customers could swap their vouchers for a cash refund. Unfortunately, this is no longer an available choice. The vouchers must be used in their designated form.

When do other airline vouchers expire?
EasyJet was not alone in introducing refund vouchers during the pandemic. Various airlines, including Tui Airways and Jet2.com, implemented similar schemes. Travelers need to be aware of the terms and deadlines associated with vouchers issued by different airlines.
While the majority of vouchers issued by airlines based in the United Kingdom have now expired, British Airways passengers have until Sept. 30 to book and complete their travel using coronavirus-related vouchers.
Bottom line
If you’re holding onto an EasyJet COVID-19 voucher, the time to act is now. You don’t need to travel before the Jan. 31 deadline, but you will need to apply your voucher to a flight booking by this date to ensure you don’t lose it.
