Emirates and Batik Air have agreed to a codeshare
partnership beginning Nov. 1, Emirates announced Monday. The deal will allow
Emirates to place its code on Batik Air flights to five domestic Malaysian
cities—Penang, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Johor Bahru—and three
regional Southeast Asian destinations—Denpasar, Jakarta and Singapore—via Kuala
Lumpur International Airport. Emirates customers will have the option to stop
over in Kuala Lumpur before proceeding to their final destination. In addition,
the Dubai-based airline also will gain access to eight additional destinations
operated by Batik Air via Kuala Lumpur for interline transfers.
