Etihad Airways and El Al Israel Airlines have added reciprocal loyalty program benefits, the carriers announced Monday.
Members of Etihad’s Guest and El Al’s Matmid loyalty programs can earn and redeem points on each carrier’s flights. Etihad Guest members can redeem miles for El Al flights, starting from 6,000 miles for economy class and 10,000 miles for business class, according to the carriers. El Al Matmid members can redeem points on Etihad, starting at 800 points in economy and 1500 points in business.
The carriers agreed to a codesharing relationship after the United Arab Emirates and Israel in 2020 signed agreements to allow direct commercial flights between the two countries. The carriers in a statement said they “are exploring further opportunities for expansion of their cooperation.”
